🎵 Music & Festivals: The Soundtrack of Autumn
The month begins with piano keys, organ pipes, and soulful voices. In Dénia, the International Piano Festival brings together artists from all over the world, filling the city with unforgettable recitals. In Pedreguer, the Festival d’Orgue celebrates Valencian musical tradition with concerts inside its church — a venue worth visiting on its own.
Contemporary music also takes the stage: Valencian singer Sandra Monfort, one of the region’s most powerful voices, performs in Xàbia, blending tradition, electronic beats, and poetry.
And for those who enjoy open-air events, several towns — including Teulada-Moraira and Benissa — host local performances, music bands, and choir gatherings throughout the month in squares and auditoriums.

Autumn also steps onto the stage. In Benissa, Calp, and Dénia, theatres host a variety of plays — from contemporary comedies to Valencian classics. The company La Foradà presents several itinerant performances with social and humorous themes that connect deeply with audiences.
A very special event also returns: “Espanta la Por”, a cultural initiative that revives characters from Valencian legends such as el Butoni and la Quarantamaula. There will be storytelling sessions, workshops, and family-friendly shows across many villages — a fun way to celebrate local traditions with the little ones.

Art also flourishes in October. In Pedreguer, the exhibition by Joan Castejón pays tribute to one of the great artists of the Marina Alta. In Xàbia, Liliana Fischer presents a collection of contemporary paintings that interact beautifully with the local landscape.
In Calp, the works of Juan Caravaca turn the exhibition space into a visual journey through light and colour. Meanwhile, in Dénia and Teulada-Moraira, you’ll find collective exhibitions showcasing emerging local artists — a reflection of the region’s vibrant creative spirit.
