Moros y Cristianos Xàbia 2025: Full Festival Programme

Every summer, the seaside neighborhood of Duanes de la Mar transforms into the stage for one of the most vibrant celebrations on the Costa Blanca: Xàbia’s Moors and Christians Festival. Over several days in July, history comes to life with dazzling parades, traditional music, fireworks, and thrilling reenactments that take us back to a time of epic battles and ancient legends.

More than just a festival, it's a living expression of local identity, pride, and Mediterranean tradition. Locals and visitors alike come together to enjoy street music, concerts, processions, historic recreations, and community spirit at its best.

Saturday, July 12

08:00h: Set-up of the "Casales Festeros" (festival club headquarters).

13:00h: Parade through the streets of Duanes with music by the Filà Trabuquers.

20:00h: Parade to gather representatives of each Filà from their quarters.

20:30h: Welcome drink offered by the captain Filà PIRATES DE SANT JAUME (Manuel Bordes Valls Street).

21:00h: Parade to the presentation ceremony.

21:20h: Firework launch and official lighting of the festival.

21:30h: Official Presentation of the Moors and Christians 2025 (Avda. Lepanto). Municipal and festival authorities will attend. The festival herald will be Mr. Amadeu Ros.

23:30–04:00h: Live music with the NO COMENT Orchestra and bar service at popular prices.

Sunday, July 13

13:00h: Parade with Filà Schaitans through Duanes.

20:30h: 20th Festive Music Concert on Avda. Lepanto by the Xàbia Artistic Music Centre Band, directed by Gonzalo de la Guía and guest conductors Antoni Josep Catalá Buigues and Rubén Penadés Silvestre.

Monday, July 14

21:00h: Parade at Arenal Beach along the David Ferrer Promenade. Fireworks and refreshments offered to Filaes by La Fontana, Posidonia, and Náutica Canal de la Fontana.

Tuesday, July 15

20:00h: Parade through the Old Town ending with a flower offering to the patron Saint James (Sant Jaume) at Ravalet Street. Fireworks to follow.

Wednesday, July 16

18:30h: Arcabucería (gunpowder show) on Avda. Jaime I.

20:15h: Flower Offering to Sant Jaume through the streets ending at Our Lady of Loreto Church. Food donations will be made to Cáritas.

22:30h: Paella Contest on Avda. Jaime I (products provided by Suma Supermarket). Prizes for the top 3 paellas, music by a marching band, and DJ party until 03:00.

Thursday, July 17

12:00h: Parade with Filà Almoriscos and Filà Contrabandistes.

21:00h: Christian troops gather on La Grava Beach for the Moorish landing.

21:30h: Moorish Landing reenactment and arcabucería. Featuring the LEGEND stunt team with help from the Xàbia Traditional Boats Association.

22:00h: Moorish Embassy and surrender of the castle (Paseo Jaime I), followed by a joint parade.

00:00–03:00h: Night of marching bands visiting all the quarters and Kábilas.

Friday, July 18

11:00h: Street music by Filà Almoradins and Almoriscos.

17:00h: 25th Pepe Prats Pilota Valenciana Trophy.

21:00h: Battle reenactment between Moors and Christians on La Grava Beach.

21:30h: Christian Embassy and castle reconquest by the LEGEND team. Final parade.

00:00–04:00h: DJ party (Bit Sound) hosted by the PIRATES DE SANT JAUME.

Saturday, July 19

11:30h: Parade by Filà Ballesters.

12:00h: Official parade with the Filà Capitana visiting Kábilas and Cuarteles.

20:00h: Gala Parade of both factions led by their standard bearers. Final group: Filà Capitana PIRATES DE SANT JAUME.

23:30–04:00: Macro DJ party with Crazy Dreams (Paseo Joaquín Sorolla).

Sunday, July 20

10:00h: Water games for children (Paseo Jaime I).

10:30h: Ice cream giveaway by the standard bearers.

11:00h: Parade with Filà Contrabandistes.

18:00h: Parade of all music bands followed by a concert performing the pasodoble “Xàbia.”

19:00h: Final Gala Parade with the grand finale by the Filà Capitana.

After the parade: Night-time firework display from La Grava Beach.

Friday, July 25 – Sant Jaume Day

19:30h: Gathering at the Church of Our Lady of Loreto.

20:00h: Solemn Mass in honor of Sant Jaume and in remembrance of deceased festival members.
